Personal injuries 

We assist our Clients as of the occurrence of the occupational accidents to take the required measures in line with local practice in Turkey to minimize the extent of liabilities and avoid loss of reputation. By way of our cooperation with actuarial experts and medical experts we offer our Clients solution oriented assistance throughout discussions with crew members as well as litigation process in occupational accidents and occupational health and safety issues.

Administrative matters 

Our team acts on behalf of shipowners, charterers, financial institutions and P&I Clubs with respect administrative matters. We assist Clients in various disputes with Turkish authorities. Beside our long-standing experience, our well established relations with Governmental authorities including Harbor Masters, Municipalities, Directorate General of Coastal Safety and Customs Directorates we offer assistance in different stages and aspects of such administrative disputes including administrative and criminal litigation proceedings.

Arrest of Ships 

We assist Clients both for arrest applications and arrest releases in accordance with 1999 Geneva Arrest Convention which was adopted to Turkish law in the recent years. Through our widespread network, the team offers complete services for arrest of ships for securing Clients’ various maritime claims at different ports of Turkey and abroad.

Ship Sale and Purchases & Finance 

Our team has a solid track record of advising sellers and buyers in sale and purchase matters. We also assist borrowers and lenders in relation to all aspects of ship financing matters ranging from negotiating finance documents to perfection of mortgages and other securities. We advise banks, leasing houses, private equities and other alternative financiers.

Shipbuilding and repair 

The Firm is notable for their work in the shipbuilding sector. We represent shipyards, shipowners, suppliers, and other service providers in relation to new builds, repair and conversion projects. 

Marine Insurance 

Marine Insurance is one of the main practice areas of our Law Firm. 

We advise P&I Clubs and Hull and Machinery Underwriters as well as their members with respect all kinds of legal matters varying from major casualties to personal injuries, from administrative matters to charter party and bill of lading disputes. Our prompt attendance and qualified service based on our significant experience in this field has important effect with respect reaching a favourable outcome in such cases. 

In line with our experience in the fields of shipbuilding and repair we also advise our Clients with respect builders’ /repairers’ covers and any disputes which may arise from such cover.  We also assist liability insurers as well as their insureds with respect disputes arising from both FD&D and charterers’ liability covers by providing legal advice, evaluating amicable settlement possibilities, and representing Clients before courts or alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
